WANA - Pezeshkian

WANA (Aug 21) – Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian declared that the time has come to end the war while Iran holds a position of strength, calling for national unity, condemning those abroad who incite foreign attacks on the country as “not Iranian,” and urging officials to focus on solving pressing domestic problems.

Speaking at the General Assembly of the Islamic Association of the Iranian Medical Society, Pezeshkian stated that conflict must inevitably conclude at some point. He asserted that now is the optimal moment to end the fighting, as the nation maintains its dignity while global opinion condemns foreign strikes on Iranian infrastructure, schools, and hospitals.

Despite advocating for peace, the president firmly rejected surrender, emphasizing that the armed forces remain fully prepared to defend the nation against external aggression to the last breath.

Addressing recent diplomatic efforts, Pezeshkian defended agreements approved by the Supreme National Security Council as dignified achievements that included no concessions of weakness. He sharply criticized outside commentators who pass judgment without understanding the operational realities faced by leadership.

Furthermore, he denounced expatriates calling for foreign aggression against the nation, stating that anyone inviting enemies to attack Iran does not deserve to be called Iranian, while praising citizens at home who stood resilient against foreign plots.

Turning to domestic matters, the president identified national cohesion as the essential defense against foreign hostility, warning that internal division only emboldens adversaries.

He urged both public officials and the medical community to move past simply listing grievances and focus on actively curing the country’s economic and healthcare challenges through honest, transparent service
